Cameras

Buttons for nine cameras are available on AutoHTN's camera screen. The camera configuration menu allows users to enter a URL and a port number for each camera. The type of cameras supported in this initial release of AutoHTN are web based IP cameras. The camera used for testing is the Panasonic BL-C1A which costs under a hundred dollars. IP cameras are available with built-in Wi-Fi if running networking cables isn’t an option.

Configuring the camera to transfer video through the internet is done with its built-in software. Configuration of a user’s router to allow port forwarding is also required to stream web cam video online to an Android phone. Make sure to check the camera’s user manual for which port to open. A short demo is provided if the camera's URL is set to "htndemo".
